Volume 37: Revelation Judgments Timeline

The Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls of God’s Final Judgments

I. Overview: The Structure of Revelation’s Judgments

Revelation presents 3 escalating cycles of divine judgment:
  • Seven Seals — judgments opened by the Lamb (Jesus).
  • Seven Trumpets — warning judgments blown by angels.
  • Seven Bowls — final wrath poured out in rapid sequence.
  • These cycles intensify in scope and severity:
  • Seals impact 1/4 of the earth.
  • Trumpets impact 1/3 of the earth.
  • Bowls impact 100% — total, final judgment.
  • Each series ends with flashes of lightning, thunder, earthquakes, and heavenly voices.

III. The Seven Seals (Revelation 6–8)

*Opened by the Lamb (Jesus Christ)*

  • Seal 1 — White Horse (Conquest): Greek: νικάω (*nikao*) – to conquer. Symbolic of false peace or the rise of the Antichrist. The rider has a bow, but no arrows → deception.
  • Seal 2 — Red Horse (War): Peace removed from the earth; global conflict; nation rising against nation.
  • Seal 3 — Black Horse (Famine): Scales → food rationing. “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages!”
  • Seal 4 — Pale Horse (Death): Greek: χλωρός (*chloros*) – pale/greenish. Death + Hades kill 1/4 of the earth.
  • Seal 5 — Martyrs Under the Altar: Souls cry out: “How long, O Lord?” Symbolizes persecution of believers.
  • Seal 6 — Cosmic Terror: Sun darkened, moon like blood, stars fall, sky rolled back.
  • Seal 7 — Silence in Heaven (30 Minutes): Solemn pause; contains all seven Trumpets.
  • ⚠️ Scope: Affects 25% of earth’s population, ecosystems, and stability.

IV. The Seven Trumpets (Revelation 8–11)

*Blown by seven angels. Judgments intensify to 1/3.*

  • Trumpet 1 — Hail, Fire, Blood: 1/3 of earth’s vegetation burned.
  • Trumpet 2 — Burning Mountain (Sea Judgment): 1/3 of sea → blood; 1/3 ships destroyed.
  • Trumpet 3 — Wormwood (Star Falling): Waters poisoned; many die.
  • Trumpet 4 — Sun, Moon, Stars Struck: 1/3 of celestial lights darkened; time itself appears disrupted.
  • Trumpet 5 — Abyss Opened: Demon Locusts: Torment unbelievers 5 months. Cannot kill, only afflict. King: Apollyon / Abaddon (Destroyer).
  • Trumpet 6 — Four Angels Released (Euphrates): 200 million demonic cavalry kill 1/3 of mankind.
  • Trumpet 7 — Kingdom Proclaimed: “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.” Announces the Bowls.
  • ⚠️ Scope: Affects 33% of earth’s population and natural resources.

    ---

    V. The Seven Bowls (Revelation 16)

*Rapid, devastating, final judgments poured like liquid from bowls.*

  • Bowl 1 — Painful Sores: Upon all who worship the Beast.
  • Bowl 2 — Sea Becomes Blood: Not 1/3 — everything dies.
  • Bowl 3 — Rivers Become Blood: Angel declares God’s justice.
  • Bowl 4 — Scorching Sun: People curse God; no repentance.
  • Bowl 5 — Darkness on the Beast’s Kingdom: Pain + confusion; demonic torment.
  • Bowl 6 — Euphrates Dried Up: Kings gathered at Armageddon.
  • Bowl 7 — “It is Done.”: Greatest earthquake in history; Babylon falls; 100-pound hailstones.
  • ⚠️ Scope: Affects 100% — the entire world system.
